Early Life and Education

Benjamin Netanyahu was born on October 21, 1949, in Tel Aviv, Israel. He grew up in Jerusalem and attended the Pizgay School for Religious Boys. In 1967, he joined the Israel Defense Forces and served as a captain in the elite Sayeret Matkal commando unit.

Political Career

After completing his military service, Netanyahu studied political science and philosophy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He then returned to Israel and worked as an economic consultant before entering politics. In 1988, he was elected to the Knesset, Israel's parliament, and served as finance minister from 1996 to 1999.
