Carole Scotta to Lead San Sebastian Jury
San Sebastian Film Festival Jury President Carole Scotta Announced
Carole Scotta, the artistic director of Haut et Court, will preside over the jury of the Official Section of the 70th edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival, which will be held from 16 to 24 September.
Scotta is the first French woman to hold this position.
Jury Charged with Awarding Golden Shell for Best Film
The jury will be responsible for awarding the Golden Shell for Best Film, the Silver Shell for Best Director, the Silver Shell for Best Actor, the Silver Shell for Best Actress, the Special Jury Prize, the Silver Shell for Best Screenplay, and the Irizar Basque Film Award.
The rest of the jury members will be announced in the coming weeks.
Scotta has been the artistic director of Haut et Court since 1992, a company dedicated to the production, distribution, and international sales of auteur films.
During her tenure, Haut et Court has produced and distributed more than 100 films, including works by Michael Haneke, Ulrich Seidl, Cristian Mungiu, Naomi Kawase, Jessica Hausner, and Mia Hansen-Løve.
Scotta is also a member of the board of directors of the French Society of Film Producers (FCPF) and the European Film Academy.
The San Sebastian Film Festival is one of the most important film festivals in the world and is considered a Category A festival by the FIAPF.
The festival is known for its focus on European and Latin American cinema.
